Dr Stephen Pfeifer, Medical Director, CNHP, CFMC
Dr Steve Pfeifer is a life long Indianapolis resident who started his journey at Indiana University, first with a Biology major undergraduate degree and then a medical doctoral degree from Indiana School of Medicine. After completing his Family Practice residency at Methodist hospital in Indianapolis, he began a Family Practice in Fishers, Indiana in 1990, which grew significantly over 20 years to a 3000 patient base with Nurse Practitioners, physicians, and other specialists. During that time, he also served as a member of the national Reliv Nutraceuticals Company as the chief advisor on the Scientific Advisory Board. He worked with food scientists to help develop seven novel nutraceutical supplements that are still being marketed across many countries. He conducted many webinars to educate distributors and spoke at national conferences to audiences of thousands.
In this traditional medicine setting, he was a trusted advocate for innovative thinking and quality care. However, he slowly evolved his philosophy towards a more holistic functional medicine approach. He realized that traditional treatments were valuable, but did not really get to the root cause of conditions. He began advanced training in holistic functional medicine circles. He was a member of the ICIM (Integrative College of Integrative Medicine) and attended many conferences where functional medicine thought leaders networked. He was a member of the A4M (American Academy of Anti-aging). Philosophies resulting in improved patient outcomes created a passion to transition away from the traditional medicine practice towards a concierge holistic practice.
In this new practice model, he worked with other innovative physicians and naturopaths to develop protocols for Lyme disease and co-infections. The practice developed a reputation as a Center of Excellence for complex medical conditions that had not responded optimally to the best traditional medical treatments available. Strategies utilized included DNA testing and nutraceutical methyl-genetic interventions. Also utilized were intravenous nutritional protocols combined with intravenous Ozone and Ultraviolet Blood irradiation.
Dr. Pfeifer recently graduated from Trinity School of Natural Health with a degree of CNHP (Certified Natural Holistic Practitioner) emphasizing more advanced holistic functional protocols and completed training with the Wholestic Nutrition Functional Medicine Institute as a Certified Functional Medicine Coach. This functional medicine approach emphasizes looking meticulously for the ROOT cause of illness. Advanced lab testing helps certified health coaches develop a targeted treatment regimen by utilizing lab panels through Evexia Diagnostics. Comprehensive nutraceutical and diet plans are offered to clients with private on line meetings.
